Meta-cognitive Reflection of Semester One

Throughout this semester I truly believe I have grown as a writer from when I started in September. This is so because I have attempted to reach outside of the box and ask help from my peers for editing and proofreading. I have also practiced writing more essays and responses on different themes and styles; especially in class and have learned from my mistakes. The good thing is that I am noticing the same mistakes redundantly so that I know to focus on just that area. I have improved on using adequate language that suits the topic at hand which also makes me sound more sophisticated as is. But I think I should further improve on analysis and connecting my ideas to real world concepts and themes. In other words, emphasizing the 'So What?' in what we write. I plan to accomplish this by creating a connection of what we read to asking ourselves why it matters in our society and what are some measures that we can take to resolve the issue.
